What is the ruling on the intermingling that occurs between male and female supervisors in orphan care centers, and what is the ruling on a male employee overseeing the activities of female orphans (such as tennis or chess) along with their female supervisors?

It is permissible for a woman to work if she adheres to the Shariah guidelines. However, seclusion (khalwa) between a man and a non-mahram woman is not permissible due to the dire consequences that may result from it. No one can claim infallibility from error, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No man is to be in seclusion with a woman unless there is a mahram with her." There is no doubt that seclusion with a non-mahram woman is one of the greatest means leading to adultery or its precursors. As for a man merely being informed about women's activities without seeing their 'awrah, or without seclusion occurring, or without women speaking to him in a soft and enticing manner, there is no objection to it for the smooth running of work, though it is preferable to avoid it. But if any of the forbidden elements occur, then it is not permissible.
