How sound is the Hadith: "O First of the First, and O Last of the Last"? And did Fatimah and Ali, may Allah be pleased with them both, have a share of the spoils of war that would have made them independent of asking the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him?

The Hadith (definition) that refers to the poverty of Ali and Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with them, and Fatimah's asking the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about the food of his household, and the Prophet giving her the choice between five goats or five words that Gabriel, peace be upon him, taught him, is a weak Hadith and is not authentic. The reason for its weakness is due to the unique narration of Ismail bin Omar Al-Bajali, who is not reliable.

As for the objection concerning Fatimah's being independent due to the share of the relatives from the one-fifth of the spoils of war, it is not problematic. This is because the one-fifth of the spoils of war belongs to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who disposes of it and gives to the relatives according to what is deemed beneficial. This is the view of a group of scholars, and the practice of the Rightly Guided Caliphs followed this. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to prioritize the needy over his daughter Fatimah, as evidenced by the Hadith in Bukhari and Muslim, which indicates that the Imam has the right to distribute the one-fifth as he deems fit. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, withheld it from his daughter and the dearest people to him among his relatives, and directed it to others.
