How can the hadiths that indicate the Prophet (peace be upon him) died affected by the poison he consumed in Khaybar, such as Aisha's hadith in Bukhari and Abu Dawud's hadith which mentions the killing of the Jewish woman, be reconciled with the Quranic verses that affirm Allah's protection of His Prophet, such as His saying: (And if he had made up about Us some [false] sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand; Then We would have cut from him the aorta) and His saying: (And Allah will protect you from the people)?

What is established in the Prophetic Hadiths does not contradict the Holy Quran. Scholars have unanimously agreed that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) died as a martyr due to the effect of the poison he consumed in Khaybar. The verse "And Allah will protect you from the people" means protection from being killed by coercion and dominance, not from death due to poison, through which Allah honored him with martyrdom years after he consumed it. The verse in Surah (definition) Al-Haqqah indicates that punishment would be swift if he had fabricated lies against Allah, which did not happen.
