Is the hadith narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) concerning the punishment for abandoning prayer, which mentions fifteen punishments distributed in this world, at the time of death, in the grave, and on the Day of Judgment, authentic?

This widely circulated message about those who abandon prayer, which specifies fifteen punishments for them, is false, reprehensible, and an innovation. It constitutes speaking about Allah without knowledge, and Allah Almighty has clarified in His Book that speaking about Him without knowledge is one of the greatest sins.

This hadith (definition) attributed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding the punishment for abandoning prayer, is among the false and fabricated hadiths, as elucidated by Al-Hafiz Al-Dhahabi and Ibn Hajar. It is impermissible to propagate such fabricated hadiths.

It has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Whoever narrates a hadith from me, knowing it to be a lie, is one of the liars."

What has been authentically reported from Allah Almighty and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning prayer and the punishment for abandoning it, is sufficient, such as His Almighty saying: (So woe to those who pray, [but] who are heedless of their prayer) [Al-Ma'un: 4-5], and his, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Between a man and disbelief and polytheism is the abandonment of prayer."
