Why did God favor men over women in guardianship (qawamah), and why were women created from a crooked rib, and are deficient in intellect and religion, and why do men receive a share in inheritance equal to that of two women?

The claim of absolute equality between men and women in all matters is reprehensible and clashes with both human nature (fitra) and Islamic law (Sharia). Each gender has its unique characteristics and role. Guardianship (qawamah) is for the man, so that the woman can devote herself to her primary role of caring for the home and children. This is justice and complementarity, not oppression. Furthermore, the narration that woman was created from a crooked rib is not an insult but rather an encouragement to treat her kindly and gently. As for her deficiency in intellect and religion, it is due to her original creation and a divine decree of the Sharia, based on divine wisdom. The evidence for her deficiency in intellect is that her testimony is half that of a man, and the evidence for her deficiency in religion is her abstaining from prayer and fasting during menstruation and post-natal bleeding. The reason why the male inherits the share of two females is that the man is obligated to spend on the woman, pay the dowry, and bear financial responsibilities, which makes giving him double the share of his sister the essence of truth and justice. Islam has placed man and woman in their appropriate positions, in accordance with their nature and creation, so that they may be complementary and not discordant. The wisdom behind every Islamic ruling becomes manifest through its comprehensive application and full belief in it.
