Is it permissible for a Muslim to utter obscene language based on hadiths that mentioned the eloquence of some Companions in using foul words? And is a man's reluctance to expose his 'awrah (private parts) and his wife's 'awrah, even out of necessity, considered shyness or a form of Waswas (obsessive whispering)?

Modesty (haya') is a virtuous characteristic and a part of faith. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was exceedingly modest. However, modesty should not reach the point of shyness and inhibition that prevents a Muslim from living a normal life, because anything that exceeds its limit turns into its opposite. If the situation necessitates explicit statement and abandoning modesty, then one should speak explicitly for the sake of benefit and to ward off harm. Scholars have permitted explicitly naming private parts when there is a need or benefit, as mentioned in relevant hadiths. This was necessitated by the situation and called for by the benefit. Therefore, modesty should not be an impediment for a Muslim to live a normal life, as revealing one's private parts is permissible in cases of necessity and need.
