What is the explanation of the Hadith: "We are more deserving of doubt than Abraham, who said, 'My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.' He said, 'Do you not believe?' He said, 'Yes, but to satisfy my heart.' And may Allah have mercy on Lot; he sought refuge in a strong support. And if I had remained in prison for as long as Joseph remained, I would have answered the caller"?

Al-Suyuti said that the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “We are more entitled to doubt than Abraham” means that doubt is impossible for prophets, and that Abraham did not doubt. The Prophet, out of humility, preferred Abraham over himself. And his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “May Allah have mercy on Lot; he sought refuge in a strong pillar” is an allusion to Lot’s saying: “If only I had strength against you or could resort to a strong pillar,” and it is praise for Lot and an explanation of his excuse. And his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “Had I remained in prison for as long as Joseph remained, I would have answered the summoner” is praise for Joseph and an explanation of his patience and deliberation, as he did not rush to leave prison until his innocence became clear, and the Prophet said that out of humility.
