The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified that the criterion for choosing a wife is religiosity, saying: "A woman is married for four reasons: for her wealth, for her lineage, for her beauty, and for her religiosity. So, choose the religious one, and you will prosper."

Choosing a religious wife is a source of happiness for a person in this world and the Hereafter, but one should not overlook other aspects. The husband's consideration of what suits him in a wife is more conducive to fostering affection. It was narrated that when Mughirah ibn Shu'bah proposed to a woman, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Look at her, for it is more likely to create affection between you."

Beauty is relative and is a matter that concerns the husband alone. If the girl is religious and acceptable to you, then seek guidance from Allah through istikhara and do not hesitate to marry her. Do not pay attention to what is said about her, because that is meddling in what does not concern one and is forbidden backbiting. Be confident that your choice of a religious woman and your istikhara to Allah will bring blessings into this marriage.
