Are there any hadiths or narrations that contradict the story which states that the pharaohs were not the first to build ships, and that civilization was very advanced in the time of Noah (peace be upon him), then vanished after the flood?

Shipbuilding did not begin with the ancient Egyptians, as there is Quranic and historical evidence indicating the existence of ships before the era of the Pharaohs, such as the Ark of Noah (peace be upon him). The claim that the ancient Egyptians were the first to build ships is an assertion not supported by conclusive evidence; the existence of their artifacts indicates their knowledge of ships, not their precedence in building them.

Noah (peace be upon him) built his Ark by the command and teaching of Allah, as stated in His saying: ﴿And construct the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration.﴾ There is no evidence proving the knowledge of shipbuilding before Noah (peace be upon him).

Civilizations undergo phases of strength and weakness, which explains the varying developments in their sciences throughout ages, and it does not mean that all civilizations are similar in their level of scientific development.
