What is the ruling on marital intimacy between spouses in Jeddah before Hajj, what are the implications of that, and from where should the wife assume ihram on the Day of Tarwiyah to go to Hajj?

The pilgrim woman has two options upon arriving in Jeddah from Egypt:

1. The best: To perform Hajj as a Mutamatti'ah (one who performs 'Umrah then Hajj). She should make the intention for 'Umrah at the Miqat and come to Jeddah in a state of ihram (forbidden from marital relations). After performing 'Umrah and desacralizing, her husband may have marital relations with her if he is not in a state of ihram. Then, on the Day of Tarwiyah, she should enter into ihram for Hajj from her location.

2. To come to Jeddah from Egypt without ihram. Her husband may have marital relations with her unless he is in a state of ihram. Then, she should go to her Miqat (Rabigh) to enter into ihram for Hajj from there.

Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen permitted those who bypass the Miqat with the intention of returning to it and entering into ihram from there, emphasizing the obligation to return to the Miqat that was bypassed to enter into ihram from it.

It must be known that one in ihram for Hajj or 'Umrah is forbidden from marital relations and their preliminaries.
