Is it permissible for a girl who is about to get married and fears that it will disgust her husband to treat the darkening of her buttocks by chemical peeling at a doctor's office, or by other available means?
The process of skin peeling does not fall outside of two scenarios: The first is if the discolored skin is an acquired illness; in this case, it is permissible to perform the procedure to restore the skin to its original state. This also includes congenital deformities that are unusual and cause aversion in the spouse, provided that treatment with medicines is not possible. The second scenario is excessive beautification for the purpose of increasing beauty, not to remove a defect. This is forbidden, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "May Allah curse the women who tattoo and those who have themselves tattooed, and the women who pluck their eyebrows, and the women who make spaces between their teeth for beauty, changing the creation of Allah." However, if the creation is deformed to an unusual degree and the deformity can be removed without harm, then there is no objection, provided the existence of the deformity is confirmed. In cases where it is permissible due to necessity, one should seek a trustworthy Muslim female doctor. If none is found, then a trustworthy non-Muslim female doctor. If none is found, then a trustworthy Muslim male doctor.
