Plucking the eyebrows (al-Nams) is forbidden for both women and men, and it is considered a major sin. As for trimming and shaping the eyebrow hair, there is a difference of opinion, and it is best to avoid it. It is permissible to remove unusual hair that disfigures a woman, such as a mustache or hair on the cheek. However, eyebrow hair should not be removed except out of necessity for treatment, or if it is excessively long in a harmful or unsightly way that disfigures one's natural appearance. If the eyebrow is very long and conspicuously deviates from its natural path, it is permissible to trim it to the extent that makes it appear natural, especially if other grooming methods are ineffective.
