Is the wife obligated to return the dowry given and waive the deferred dowry if she requests a divorce due to the psychological harm caused by her husband, from which she is currently receiving psychological treatment?

A wife has the right to request a divorce if she is clearly harmed by her husband, such as abandonment without a legitimate religious reason, or beating, or insults and verbal abuse. As for psychological harm, the affected woman can consult Islamic centers or specialized scholars. A divorced woman is entitled to her full mahr, and she is not obliged to waive any part of it except by agreement of both parties, bearing in mind that the wife should not waive it if the husband was the one who harmed her. Among the objectives of marriage is to achieve tranquility and psychological stability through mutual respect between the spouses.
