Is a wife entitled to seek divorce if she cannot tolerate her husband's narcissism and cruelty, his accusing her of infidelity, his not spending on her, his abandonment of her, and his persistence in accusing her of escapism and extreme secularism? And is she considered sinful for not giving him his conjugal rights due to her awaiting divorce and her aversion to his touch, despite her allowing him to marry another?

The resolution of disputes takes place in the Sharia courts. Each spouse must fulfill the rights of the other, including the right to intimacy. A wife may abandon her husband if he is unjust, but a husband may not abandon his wife unless she has rebelled (nashazat). A woman has the right to seek divorce for harm (darar), and she incurs no sin by doing so. Accusing one's wife of infidelity without proof is a grave matter. A husband's harshness contradicts the good companionship enjoined by Islamic law. A woman has the right to an independent dwelling with its amenities.
