What is the meaning of Allah Almighty's saying: (But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of righteousness])?

The pronoun in "yalqaha" (he receives it) refers to repelling evil with good. The meaning is that none is granted success in this noble trait except for the patient and those with an abundant share of goodness. Ibn Kathir interpreted "al-ḥaẓẓ al-ʿaẓīm" (the great fortune) as Paradise.
