Do jinn possess toys such as teddy bears and dolls in dark places and during the night?
There are two types of dolls that children play with. The first type is made of wool, fabric scraps, or similar materials. Keeping them is permissible based on what was reported from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) concerning this matter.
The second type is made of plastic or similar materials, closely resembling a human body or an animal. Contemporary scholars have differed on this, with some permitting it and others prohibiting it.
As for jinn appearing in these forms at night and in dark places, there is no textual evidence for this. However, it is well-known that devils can take on various forms.
To repel devils from the home, it is recommended to increase in remembrance of Allah (dhikr), supererogatory prayers (nawafil), and recitation of the Quran, especially reading Surah Al-Baqarah. This is based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed, Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited."
