Is the husband obligated to provide for a wife who has refrained from speaking to him for more than two weeks, and is she considered disobedient (nashizah) in this case?

If a wife abandons her husband in speech and refuses to answer his calls for two weeks, this is considered an act of defiance (nushooz) on her part, as it is a sign of ill-manners, aloofness, and turning away from her husband.

This defiance (nushooz) entails the wife incurring sin and losing her right to maintenance from him, unless she is pregnant. Regarding the maintenance of a pregnant woman, there is a difference of opinion among scholars: The Maliki school and one narration from the Hanbali school: The maintenance of a defiant (nashiz) pregnant woman is not forfeited. The Shafi'i school and one narration from the Hanbali school: The maintenance of a defiant (nashiz) pregnant woman is forfeited.

The husband must avoid the causes of temptation (fitan), especially the temptation of women, by lowering his gaze and avoiding mixing with non-mahram women.
