What is the expiation (kaffarah) required for someone who delayed making up days from the last Ramadan until the next Ramadan began, and what is the amount for feeding ten poor people in Britain?

Whoever delays making up missed days from Ramadan until another Ramadan begins, without a valid excuse, must, in addition to making up those days, feed one poor person for each day. The amount of food for each day is one mudd of rice or its equivalent (approximately 750 grams). It is not permissible to pay the monetary value unless there is no one who will accept the food. However, if the delay was due to forgetfulness without negligence, then there is nothing upon him except making up the missed days.
