Does the removal of fear and grief mentioned in verses such as "no fear upon them, nor shall they grieve" include this world and the Hereafter, or does it apply only to the Hereafter?

Some exegetes interpret "no fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve" as negating fear concerning matters of the Hereafter and grief over what has passed in this world. Others, however, generalize the negation of fear and grief to include both this world and the Hereafter. Ibn Kathir mentioned that guidance encompasses the prophets, messengers, and the Qur'an. Thus, whoever follows this guidance will have no fear concerning what they will face in the Hereafter, nor will they grieve over what they missed in this world. This applies to the Awliya' (friends) of Allah who believe and are righteous, for them are good tidings in this world and the Hereafter. Ibn Ashour also clarified that the fear and grief negated are those resulting from punishment, and these may be entirely absent from them due to the strength of their piety and righteousness.
