Is violently turning the pages of the mushaf and reading quickly without giving the madud their due, as a result of unintentional anger not meant to insult the mushaf, considered a major sin, and what is its expiation?

A Muslim must treat the Qur’an with reverence and respect, holding it gently and carefully turning its pages. Glorifying the sacred laws of Allah and His rituals is a sign of piety in hearts. If one turns the pages of the Qur’an in an unusual manner or violates the rules of Tajweed due to an external matter that angered him, without intending disrespect, then he does not sin. Mastering recitation is required, as Allah Almighty says: "And recite the Qur’an with measured recitation" (73:4), and Allah Almighty says: "Those to whom We gave the Book recite it with its true recitation. Those are the ones who believe in it" (2:121). Tartil (measured recitation) includes Tajweed of the letters and knowing the proper pauses. Not applying Tajweed does not mean not extending the مد (vowel elongation) for six counts and limiting it to four, as some reciters permit limiting it to four for the obligatory مد, but the necessary مد must be extended for six counts.
