The answer

The important foundation for choosing a wife is her religiousness and character, as stated in the Hadith: "A woman is married for four reasons... so choose the one who is religious." If the girl is not righteous religiously and morally, your son should not marry her. The son must obey his parents if they forbid him from marrying this girl, unless he fears falling into sin.

An adult daughter has the right to reside with whichever of her parents she wishes, and she is not subject to custody. The father does not have the right to prevent his adult daughter from going to her mother, unless there is a valid reason, such as fearing corruption for her. Financial support for a daughter who has no wealth is obligatory upon her father until she marries and her husband consummates the marriage with her.

Any harm inflicted by the girl or her sisters upon their father is considered disobedience (uquq), and they must repent and seek his forgiveness.
