Is it obligatory for a husband to divorce his wife, who has recently embraced Islam but has not yet adhered to all Islamic teachings, or should he be patient with her, considering the welfare of his daughters?

Our advice to you is to strive to reform your wife by constantly reminding her of the greatness and power of Allah, and that He is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Giver of life, the Giver of death, and the possessor of countless blessings. Explain the reality of human beings, that they possess no control over their own affairs, and that Allah revealed His law for those who follow it, as a reward for them, the Garden of Refuge. And for those who turn away from it, their life shall be one of hardship. We advise you to purchase a collection of beneficial books and impactful audio recordings to aid in your wife's reform. If this does not prove effective, then abandon her in bed, turning your back to her. If this does not prove effective, then strike her with a non-violent blow that does not break a bone or disfigure a limb, on condition that the striking does not lead to a greater harm. After this, threaten her with divorce, which is the last resort. If all means have been exhausted, then there is no solution but separation, because the harm of remaining with her outweighs the benefit of staying for the sake of the two daughters.
