What is the ruling on the sitting of rest for the Imam and the worshipper behind him?

The ruling on the sitting for rest (jalsat al-istiraha) has been clarified in a previous fatwa. If the Imam omits it, there is no harm for the follower (ma'mum) in performing it or omitting it, because following the Imam is obligatory. If the follower intentionally engages in an action that the Imam omitted, their prayer becomes invalid, except for the sitting for rest due to its brevity.
