How can one reconcile the fact that the hijab in itself is not an adornment and that no specific color is stipulated for it, given that the colors worn may be considered adornment, and that wearing certain clothes may be viewed as an adornment due to their social connotation or the approval of one's family? And would wearing quiet colors, or an abaya, or black and white, be better in terms of piety and concealment, without believing that this is the only characteristic of the hijab?

One of the conditions for a woman's jilbab (outer garment) is that it should not be an adornment in itself, based on the Almighty's saying: "And not display their adornment." The intention is that it should not attract attention, for example, by having drawings, embellishments, or multiple colors that are considered adornment. This condition does not contradict the permissibility for a woman to wear whatever colors she wishes. The wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to wear red and saffron-dyed garments. The abaya worn over the head is better in terms of concealment than the shoulder abaya. The fact that clothes are expensive or from an international brand does not necessitate their prohibition if they are not embellished or an adornment in themselves.
