How can the Quran's descriptions of being both weighty and easy be reconciled in the verses of the Wise Reminder, and is knowledge considered easy?

The facilitation of the Qur'an for remembrance is understood in two ways: the facilitation of its words for memorization and the facilitation of its meanings for comprehension, and this is for anyone who approaches it with diligence. Part of its facilitation is also that Allah has prepared scholars to explain it to people. The Qur'an combines addressing both the general public and the elite in a unique style that each finds suitable for their intellect and needs.

As for His saying, the Most High: (Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word), its heaviness has multiple facets: the heaviness of its revelation upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the heaviness of acting upon it, its heaviness upon the hypocrites, and its heaviness in the scales and its immense reward. These interpretations are not contradictory; rather, all of them are part of the meanings of heaviness in the Qur'an.

This heaviness is lightened by Allah the Almighty for those who approach the Qur'an seeking guidance, just as is the case with prayer and patience, which are indeed difficult except for the humble.

Sharia knowledge is difficult yet easy; difficult because it is among the noblest matters that require effort, and easy for those who approach it methodically and gradually, as the feeling of pleasure in seeking knowledge outweighs its difficulty. Knowledge is sought little by little, and mastering its fundamental principles and solid sciences opens the way for higher degrees of understanding and establishment. There is nothing easy in the knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah; knowledge is heavy in its understanding, consolidation, and continuity, and it requires continuous pursuit and follow-up, otherwise, it will be forgotten.
