What is the meaning of Ibn Abbas's saying in the interpretation of the verse (And His Throne was upon the water) and his description of Paradise and what it contains?

The narration mentioned about Ibn Abbas, concerning Allah's Throne and His Garden (Jannah), has a weak chain of transmission (Isnad), and it revolves around Ibn Abi Layla, who had a poor memory. Nevertheless, the general meaning that the Throne of the Most Merciful was upon water before the creation of the heavens and the earth is established by the clear text of the Holy Quran in Surah Hud, Ayah 7. It is also established that Allah Almighty created Gardens for His close servants, and that Firdaws is the highest part of Jannah, and above it is the Throne of the Most Merciful. As for "He took for Himself a Garden," what is meant is an addition of honor and glorification for this Garden, not that Allah inhabits it, for Allah Almighty is above His Throne, above all His creation.
