Is it permissible for a woman to apply henna to her hands and nails while she is menstruating?

It is permissible for a woman to apply henna to her hands and nails during menstruation and at other times. In fact, a group of jurists have recommended it because it does not require removing its substance for ablution. Malik was asked about a menstruating or ritually impure woman dyeing her hands, and he replied: "Yes, that is something women used to seek to ensure that their dye would not necessitate repeating ablution for prayer." The majority of jurists permit a menstruating woman to dye herself, based on what was narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, who said: "We used to dye ourselves when we were with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he did not forbid us from it." Ibn Rushd said: There is no problem with a menstruating or ritually impure woman dyeing herself, because the dye that results on her hands does not prevent the removal of the state of ritual impurity (janaba) and menstruation from her by washing. Therefore, there is no harm in applying henna during menstruation, and there is no dislike or prohibition for it.
