What is the ruling on working in the teaching profession in Tunisia, given the presence of gender mixing in institutes, and with my knowledge of the noble Hadith: "There will come a time upon the people when you will have foolish rulers who will put the wicked people in front and delay the good people, and they will delay the prayer from its appointed times. So, whoever among you witnesses that, let him not be a supervisor, nor a policeman, nor a tax collector, nor a treasurer"?

If you cannot find work free from mixing [between genders], and you adhere to the Sharia guidelines, such as not being in a private seclusion with a non-mahram woman or shaking her hand, then it is permissible for you to work and interact with female colleagues within the limits allowed by the Sharia, as long as it does not lead to anything forbidden. However, if you fear temptation for yourself due to mixed-gender work, then leaving it becomes obligatory, because the safety of one's religion is more important than anything else.
