Do a person's sins continue after their death, and does their torment in the grave increase every time someone benefits from a sin they committed in life, such as a dancer whose unrepented videos continue to be watched, or a singer whose songs are heard after his death?

If someone commits an evil deed and its effect extends after them, they bear its sin and the sin of those who are led astray because of it, as stated in the Almighty’s saying: ﴿That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and some of the burdens of those whom they misguided without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.﴾ [An-Nahl: 25] and His saying: ﴿Indeed, We are We who give life to the dead, and We record that which they have put forth and what they left behind.﴾ [Yā-Sīn: 12]. Thus, a sin openly committed by its perpetrator, with its effects remaining after their death, is greater than a hidden sin. A Muslim should strive to leave behind good effects from which they benefit after their death, and be wary of leaving behind evil effects that mislead people after them.
