Is it forbidden to take newspapers, which may contain the words or mention of Allah, into the bathroom to read them?

Newspapers should not be taken into the bathroom for reading, because a Muslim is required not to bring anything containing the remembrance of Allah into the lavatory. It was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to remove his ring when entering the lavatory, and its inscription was "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." Newspapers usually contain a verse, a hadith, or the remembrance of Allah Almighty. Moreover, a person is required to remain silent while relieving himself, not to read or speak. It is better for him to relieve himself and leave, and not to stay longer than necessary, as that is disliked.
