Is it permissible to recite Surat Al-Baqarah with the intention of healing a relative from cancer when he is in another country, and will this recitation affect him remotely as a ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing)?

The Quran is a healing for hearts and bodies. Healing through it is achieved whenever a servant is close to his Lord. The Sunnah does not mention ruqyah (exorcism/spiritual healing) being performed on someone far from the reciter. Rather, ruqyah requires belief, intention, and direct application. As for du'a (supplication), both the near and the far, the present and the absent, can benefit from it, and the supplication of a Muslim for his brother in their absence is answered.
