Is a husband entitled to hold his wife accountable for how she spends her money, and is he entitled to demand that she return what she spent on her family, claiming that he has a greater right to it?

According to the majority of jurists, a wife has the right to dispose of her property through donation or exchange, and she does not need her husband's permission, even if it exceeds one-third of her wealth. This is because she is a person competent to dispose of her property, and her husband has no right to her money. Some scholars, however, have prohibited her from donating more than one-third of her wealth, citing the husband's right to it. The more preponderant opinion is the first one, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement to women: "Give charity, even from your jewelry." So they gave charity, and he did not ask them about their husbands' permission. Therefore, the husband has no right to hold his wife accountable for spending her money, nor to prevent her from disposing of it, nor to demand that she revoke what she has gifted.
