Is it possible for someone who killed a newborn as a result of his sister's illegitimate relationship, fearing scandal, to repent?

The deliberate killing of a child after birth, whether to conceal adultery or for any other reason, is a grave crime and the unlawful taking of a life. It entails severe torment in the Hereafter, as stated in the Almighty's words: "But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment." It is also established that the first matters to be judged among people on the Day of Resurrection will be concerning bloodshed.

The door of repentance is open for those who have committed this sin, for the Almighty said: "Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds. For them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And Allah is ever Forgiving, most Merciful," and His words: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"

The killer must offer sincere repentance and pay the blood money (diyah) to the heirs of the deceased who were not involved in the killing, if they do not insist on retribution (qisas). However, if the heirs insist on retribution, then the ruler must execute qisas upon the killer.
