What is the ruling on the prayer of a woman who experienced some discharge from her period and did not pray, and then nothing further came down and she also did not pray?
The traces are either yellowish or brownish. They are not considered menses unless they occur during the customary period or are connected to blood. Whatever does not coincide with the customary period is not menses, and prayer must be made up for the days when no trace was seen.
If these traces occur during the customary period, they are menses, and she must make up the prayers for the days that were free of blood traces.
The majority of scholars stipulate a minimum of one day and one night for blood to be considered menses. The Malikis and Ibn Taymiyyah disagreed, saying: there is no minimum limit for it.
If "period" refers to the usual blood, then it is menses. When it stops, ghusl (ritual purification) and prayer become obligatory, even if it is during the customary period.
Therefore, prayer must be made up for the days that were free of blood.
