It was reported that Hisham ibn Ammar used to be prompted for hadith, and his saying, "My hadith has already been narrated," was an excuse from him after he grew old, changed, and began to confuse and be prompted. Its meaning is that his hadith had been narrated long ago, sound and with chains of transmission, so he was not concerned by the prompting and confusion occurring now.
