What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning a wife who is extremely temperamental, attempts suicide, fabricates problems, and plots to harm her husband, especially when her family refuses to discuss or intervene, given that the husband loves her and is hesitant to divorce her after four years of marriage with no children, and is divorce advisable in such a case?

We do not command you to divorce your wife or to keep her. However, marriage was legislated for tranquility, affection, and procreation. If it becomes a confirmed source of corruption and harm, then separation is better, especially if the wife is ill-mannered. Furthermore, divorce before procreation has a lesser impact. Do not grieve if the benefit of divorce becomes apparent, for Allah Almighty says: "And perhaps you dislike a thing and it is good for you." And Allah may provide each of you with better after separation. The family should be a factor of reform, not corruption; they are the reference for resolving disputes.
