Are Abu Qatadah and Qatadah two different people, and what is a brief biography of each of them?

Abu Qatadah al-Ansari, Al-Harith ibn Rab'i, was a venerable Companion who witnessed Uhud and subsequent events. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, described him as the best of his horsemen. He was courageous and pious, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated for his protection. He passed away in Kufa in the year 54 AH and had children. As for Qatadah the Tabi'i (successor), he is Qatadah ibn Di'amah al-Sadusi al-Basri. He was born blind and was a prodigy in memorization, knowledge of the Qur'an, exegesis (tafsir), jurisprudence (fiqh), Arabic language, and Arab genealogies. He was, however, criticized for tadlis (concealing the names of some narrators in a chain of transmission) and for speaking about al-qadar (divine decree). He died in the year 117 AH. Qatadah the Tabi'i was not among the students of Ibn Abbas; in fact, he only heard from Anas among the Companions. There is another Companion named Qatadah ibn al-Nu'man, who witnessed Badr and is known for the incident of his eye.
