The answer

If someone delays the prayer beyond its initial time, intending to perform it, and then dies before the time expires, they are not considered disobedient. This is because the five daily prayers are among the "expanded obligations" (al- al-muwassa'), which may be performed at any point within their prescribed time. This is affirmed by what Gabriel clarified to the Prophet (peace be upon them both), and what العلامة الشنقيطي (Al-Allamah Al-Shanqiti) transmitted from Ibn Qudamah. However, performing the prayer promptly at the beginning of its time is better, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "So compete in good deeds."
