Is there another way to atone for the sin of sexual intercourse during Ramadan besides fasting for two consecutive months? And is a separate expiation required for each instance of intercourse?

Whoever has intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan must repent to Allah with sincere repentance and regret their action. Expiation (kaffarah) is obligatory for the man, and there is a difference of opinion regarding its obligation for the woman. The expiation multiplies with the multiplicity of intercourse on different days. Fear of people or shyness from them is not an excuse that waives the expiation, for Allah is more deserving of being shy from. Euphemisms (ma'arid) can be used to avoid embarrassment without resorting to lies.
