Does the day that equals a thousand years, as mentioned in Surat Al-Sajdah, correspond to the speed of angels in carrying out commands and traversing the heavens in the blink of an eye? And does the word "yawm" (day) in Arabic mean "period"? And is marriage a source of sustenance?

First: Allah the Almighty says: (He arranges [every] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count) [As-Sajdah/5]. Ibn Kathir and others said: Deeds are raised from the earth to the heaven in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which we count. This is from the Unseen, and we must submit to it. Nothing in the heavens or on earth can incapacitate Him, the Exalted. And the power of Allah is greater than the power of humans in movement and speed.

Second: The word "Day" (اليوم) in the Arabic language may refer to time in general, whether it is daytime or nighttime. This has been mentioned in religious usage, and there is no contradiction in it.

Third: Marriage for chastity is one of the means of sustenance and wealth by the decree of Allah, as stated in His saying: (And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing) [An-Nur/32], and the Hadith: (There are three whose help is a right upon Allah: the fighter in the cause of Allah, the indentured slave who intends to pay, and the one who marries, intending chastity).
