Is it permissible to reside in Italy with one's wife for a certain period despite the difficulty of returning to Algeria, and is it permissible to trim the beard in Western countries for fear of not finding work or due to the absence of righteous company that would help one adhere to religious practice?

It is disliked to travel to and reside in the lands of the disbelievers unless there is a pressing necessity, due to the Muslim being exposed to trials therein.

It is obligatory to grow the beard in order to differ from the polytheists and to emulate the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, for he said: "Be different from the polytheists: grow your beards and trim your moustaches."
