Is a wife considered sinful if she leaves without the permission of her husband, who is shunning her and preventing her from leaving for the most trivial reasons? And is a husband entitled to exploit his rights to harm her?

Spouses must live together in kindness, and neither of them is permitted to withhold the other's right or inflict harm upon them without a legitimate Shar'i reason. A wife is not permitted to leave her husband's house without his permission unless there is a necessity; otherwise, she is considered disobedient (nashiz), and the husband has the right to discipline her by abandonment. It is forbidden for a wife to leave her husband's house without his permission unless there is a necessity, such as going to the judge to demand her right, or to earn her livelihood if her husband is in financial hardship, or to seek a fatwa if her husband is not a jurist and has not sought a fatwa for her, or to bring what she eats if there is no one to bring it for her. The foundation of the marital relationship is affection, understanding, patience, and overlooking mistakes.
