What is the meaning of Athari and Zahiri Fiqh?

A. "Athari Fiqh" relies on the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah and the sayings of the Companions, not preferring qiyas (analogical deduction) or istihsan (juristic preference) over them. As for "Dhahiri Fiqh," attributed to Dawud al-Dhahiri and Ibn Hazm, despite its veneration of texts, it went to extremes in rejecting qiyas, even clear qiyas, which led them to deviate from the method of the Salaf and issue anomalous rulings.
