What is the ruling regarding a husband who sleeps in a separate room from his wife under the pretext of not being disturbed by the children, and does not wake up for prayer or work except with her help, which diminishes his wife's desire for him and affects the affection between them?

Legally, a husband must treat his wife well. This includes good manners and bringing joy to her, as Allah Almighty says: "And live with them in kindness." The interpretation of "kindness" includes fulfilling rights, refraining from harm, good companionship, preventing harm, offering benevolence, and good treatment. For a husband to sleep with his wife in the same room or bed is not obligatory, but it is part of good companionship to strengthen affection, intimacy, and family stability. The husband's kindness should be met with kindness, as Allah Almighty says: "Is the reward of good [anything] but good?" The wife is advised to discuss matters with her husband calmly, to supplicate frequently, and to beware of the devil's actions that cause separation between them.
