Am I still under my husband's authority, given that he wished to take me back during the 'iddah period, knowing that he divorced me with a triple divorce in anger and suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, and this is my first divorce?

If a husband divorces his wife while in a state of extreme anger, to the point where he does not comprehend what he is saying, then the divorce does not take effect, as he is considered to be in the same position as an insane person. However, if he comprehends what he is saying and divorces her with three pronouncements in a single utterance, then she becomes unlawful for him and is not permissible for him until she marries another husband in a desired marriage, not a marriage of convenience (tahlil). This is the opinion of the majority of scholars.

In contrast, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and those who agreed with him stated that it counts as a single divorce. In this case, he has the right to take her back before the end of the waiting period ('iddah), and a return does not require a guardian, a dowry, the wife's consent, or her knowledge.

As for a separate residence, it is a right of the wife according to the husband's financial capability. It is advised to refer the matter to the Sharia court for consideration.
