Is it obligatory for a person afflicted with urinary incontinence, who uses a catheter bag to collect urine, to clean the bag whenever urine collects in it, knowing that this would invalidate his ablution and believing that he would have to make up missed prayers?

If a person afflicted with urinary incontinence finds a period during which the urine flow stops, and this period is sufficient for performing the prayer, then he must wait to perform ablution (wudu) and pray. However, if the urine flow does not stop, then he must take precautions by wearing a bag or a cloth and perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun. He should pray with this ablution both the obligatory (fard) and supererogatory (nawafil) prayers. Precautions must be taken to prevent the spread of impurity (najasa). The preponderant opinion is that he is not required to re-wash the area and change the cloth for each prayer.
