Is it permissible to listen to anasheed in the bathroom?

It is sunnah for a Muslim to perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) before undertaking any permissible action, asking Allah to choose what is best for him in his religion and worldly life. It is not to be performed for obligatory or recommended acts, nor for forbidden or disliked acts.

Its manner, as taught by the Prophet, peace be upon him, is to pray two rak'ahs (units of prayer) other than the obligatory prayers, then to supplicate with the du'a (supplication): "O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, and I seek Your power by Your power, and I ask You from Your immense bounty. For indeed, You are able and I am not, and You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affair – or he said: in the immediate and distant future of my affair – then ordain it for me, and make it easy for me, then bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is evil for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affair – or he said: in the immediate and distant future of my affair – then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, then make me content with it." The specific matter should be mentioned in its place in the du'a.

The du'a should be recited after completing the two rak'ahs, or before giving the salutation (taslim) at the end of them. After that, one should proceed with their matter, relying upon Allah.
