Is it permissible to cheat on an exam if most students are cheating and the professors are helping them do so?

The act of cheating by students and the betrayal of trust by teachers are both forbidden in Islamic law. Cheating is not characteristic of Muslims, and betraying trust is prohibited. It is not permissible for a student to go along with this; rather, he must do good and avoid wrongdoing, for every soul is held accountable for what it has earned. Whoever fears Allah, Allah will provide a way out for him and sustain him from where he does not expect. And one will not abandon something for the sake of Allah except that Allah will give him something better in return. It is obligatory to advise these individuals gently and kindly, and to remind them of Allah, for religion is [sincere] advice.
