What is the ruling on using a keychain with the caricature "Handala" by the cartoonist Naji al-Ali, or anything that resembles a human?

If the aforementioned cartoon character is a complete, embodied image of a living being, then it is not permissible for a Muslim to use it for hanging keys or for any other purpose.
