What is the ruling on going to a woman who treats with the Qur’an and seeks the help of jinn, knowing that she does not take money and asks the patient to recite or listen to the Qur’an at home, such as asking for the recitation of Surat Al-Baqarah daily for 20 days to treat the evil eye?

It is impermissible to seek treatment from a woman who employs jinn, even if she performs some good deeds.

One should suffice with only legal Ruqyah (Islamic incantation) for treating illnesses, including the evil eye.

Reciting Surat Al-Baqarah in the home expels devils, and it has been established that it is a protection against magic. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Recite Surat Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, and leaving it is regret, and the sorcerers cannot confront it." He also said: "Do not turn your homes into graves, for indeed Satan flees from a house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is recited."
